Heart of Autism is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization whose primary contributions to the DFW community are through fundraising in support of the autism community. We pride ourselves in being a local grassroots organization run by volunteers only and have raised over $100,000 the last 4 years. For 2017, Heart of Autism members have committed to raise $60,000. These funds will support Therapy grants for under privileged families, adult services, and Autism Research, and give families hope for a healthier future. The generous support of Sponsors, Silent Auction and Special Gift donors, and Contribution Ticket patrons will help us achieve our goal.

Heart Of Autism: Miles For Mazy

5 hours 44 minutes ago

THIS. My heart. Just love this. 💗

In support of World Down Syndrome Day (21st March), here is the sweetest video ever. Featuring 50 mums in a carpool karaoke lip syncing with their kids to Christina Perri song, "A Thousand Years". #wouldntchangeathing #wdsd

(We don't own any rights to the music. All rights belong to Christina Perri and Wouldn't Change A Thing. See the original video here: https://goo.gl/krPfxA)

The mums are all part of a Facebook group known as "Designer Genes" created for parents who have a child with Down’s Syndrome born in 2013/14. They got together to show the world just how ordinary and fun life with the condition is and how they "Wouldn't Change a Thing".

The video was originally inspired by Singing Hands - a UK organisation who's videos have helped many in the group learn Makaton for supporting their children’s communication development. Makaton is designed to help hearing people with learning or communication difficulties using signs, symbols alongside speech.

With thanks to the artist Christina Perri for her support and Singing Hands for the original concept.
